Welcome to the site for the SoulScapes™ portraits ♦ unique images that portray the landscapes of the soul, blending the human form with the natural environment.  Susan Slotter, original creator of SoulScapes,™ has over the years worked with people inspired to have SoulScapes™ images of themselves to honor particular moments in their soul journeys.

 
This site is an invitation to immerse into a diversity of portraits commisssioned over the years, made in tandem with the development of Susan's SoulScapes™ fine art bodies of work destined for books, film and other multi-media vehicles. Susan reflects that some of the greatest joys in her life have been through her  photographic soul collaborations with models and clients.

 
Susan has always worked traditionally with film; all images on this site dated prior to 2007 have been made without any digital components (ie. the old-fashioned way, without Photoshop!).  In 2007, Susan acquired her first professional Digitial camera, and now brings both modalities into her work.

 
A few navigational tips for this site:

The Portraits of Grace logo refers not to a person named Grace (although we each could be named that!), but to the fact that in the process of creating each portrait, a certain serendipity and synchronicity have always come through ♦ something that is a surprise and a delight, and something that could never have been known or so perfectly planned in advance.

On the Home Page, clicking on a Category in the Navigation Bar takes you to a Portfolio Overview Page.  Clicking on either the image or the title of the Portfolio (the model's first name) takes you to a sample of images from that commissioned portrait.  Once in a Portfolio, clicking on an image enlarges it onto a black background for best viewing.  A slideshow feature will be added later this summer to view any portrait series in slideshow format.

From any Portfolio Page, clicking on More Portfolios in the Nav Bar on the left displays a drop down menu of all the Portrait Series on the site, so one can quickly move to any of the Portrait Portfolios from that menu.
